office space in Arizona

Whether you’ve just signed your first commercial lease for office space in Arizona or have long occupied a space, going green is an increasingly hot topic in business community.

There are many resources and ways to make your office space in AZ greener. You can make easy changes like switching to energy efficient light bulbs, reducing paper and ink use, and purchasing recycled office supplies and products. Aside from helping the environment, there are several reasons to consider making your office more eco-friendly, including:

          1. Lowering energy bills can reduce the cost of business. Simple habits can make a significant difference in your utility bills. Remind employees to turn off lights, computers, and other office technology when they’re not in use. Consider turning off the air-conditioning in meeting rooms or parts of the office that are rarely used. When the office bills demand less of the business’ cash flow, more capital can be invested into growing the company.
          2. Creating a clean and green office environment can lead to a healthier workplace for employees. By using organic cleaning products, organic office utensils, or offering local and organic food and beverages, you can contribute to keeping your staff fit and healthy. The Green Business Bureau reported that healthy office habits can reduce employee sick days by 20%, so going green saves money and time.
          3. There are tax credits available to offices that go green. Businesses can qualify for these tax credits by using solar power or other renewable energy sources. Office space in AZ has no shortage of sunshine for solar power, so use it to your benefit by installing solar panels or alternative energy options.
          4. Environmentally friendly technology is the future of business. By adopting energy efficient habits, you can get ahead of your competition, foster happier and more productive employees, and make your operations more profitable.

Consumers have begun to appreciate and even demand greener practices from the brands they do business with, so creating an eco-friendly and efficient workplace can produce benefits for your staff and customers. If you’re not quite ready to make a big investment, consider making small changes each month, which can produce cost savings, reduce your carbon footprint, and attract new customers over time. Finding Phoenix offices to buy or lease can be difficult, and moving into the new Phoenix office space can be equally challenging. A lot of planning goes into moving your entire business to a new location, but keep this checklist of moving tips in mind to make the process smoother and easier:

          1. Start with a plan - Manage your move like any other project. Determine everything that needs to be done in order to move your office successfully, and create a budget accordingly.

          2. Keep communication open – Determine how long your phone and computer systems will be down. Then, keep your staff and customers in the loop by sending out memos to employees, customers, vendors, and suppliers.

          3. Inform employees – Keep your staff involved every step of the way. Meet with them before and after moving day to inform them of any changes in security, phone systems, policies, and procedures. After the move, get your staff oriented by doing a walk-through of the office and pointing out the location of key people and resources.

          4. Prepare for packing – Order and distribute packing boxes, materials, and labels for each employee. Then, determine who will pack common office areas and filing cabinets. Providing clear instructions for packing and moving will make the process more organized and efficient.

          5. Manage your data – The last thing you want to do is lose important data during the move. It’s always a good idea to back up your network and telephone system before shutting it down. Document logins, extensions, and other access information, and arrange to reboot the systems as soon as the equipment arrives at your new office.

          6. Contact utility and service providers – Get in touch with your current phone, water, and electricity companies to remove your company name from the old office’s utility accounts, and contact your new providers to make sure the office will be fully functional when your staff arrives. Also, provide employees with parking and keys or codes to access your new Phoenix office space and make the overall transition as smooth as possible.

          7. Change your address and phone number – Order new business cards and signs; paint company vehicles; and update advertising, listings, and website to reflect your new contact information.

There are many more specific steps to moving your office and staff into a new office, but we hope this brief checklist gives you a good place to start. If you’re ready to move but haven’t found the perfect office for your company, contact Camroad Properties for help finding Mesa, Tempe, or Phoenix offices that fit your needs.
