As much as we all want our Arizona office space to be a place our employees enjoy, it can be hard getting people excited for long days of hard work. However, it is easy to make them feel appreciated for all the big and little things they contribute to your Arizona commercial office. Here are a few suggestions to get you started.
1. Ask, Don’t Assign
A few small words can make a world of difference. Next time you need something done, try asking instead of assigning. When your employee does an outstanding job, don’t forget to thank them. It may seem simple, but “please” and “thank you” are two often forgotten phrases in any office space, so make yours the exception.
2. Treat Them
Celebrate your Arizona commercial office’s accomplishments by treating your employees to a Taco Tuesday, a Donut Wednesday, or even a happy hour on Friday. This will get your team together in a more casual setting. There’s nothing like free food to foster an appetite for appreciation in your company.
3. Get Out of the Office
Whether it’s some personal one on one time, or a group outing, take your employees out of the office to show them how much you appreciate that extra mile they go for you. Schedule a time to get coffee or an office-wide lunch outing, and make sure they know you’re footing the bill. Don’t just get your employees out of the office, get them out of their routine. Use this time to get to know your employees, what drives them, how they like working in your Arizona office space, and what you can do to help them grow in their personal and professional lives.
The freedom to make big decisions or take on personal projects is incredibly valuable in any company. Offer your employees the opportunity to take on more responsibility. Whether it’s paid time to work on personal projects, or becoming involved in an important company decision, let them know you value their passions and their opinion, not just their hours.
5. Peer-to-Peer Recognition
If your employees work closely together, and someone does a stand out job, it’s doesn’t always have to be their boss that recognizes a good job done. Coworkers and peers often have much more insight into everyday work struggles, so initiating a system of peer-to-peer recognition is really great for moral. This is primarily important for new hires, who may or may not have a mentor, and need a bit of encouraging to get up to speed.
